The HIN’s Technology and Information team combines two connected delivery workstreams - the Technology team and the Informatics service:
The Technology team gathers information on technological innovations that could benefit the HIN’s members, patients and citizens in South London, and works in different ways to support their evaluation, spread and adoption.
Sometimes these developments originate outside of South London, and the Team works to understand whether and how they might be adopted by organisations in our area. Increasingly, we are identifying innovations that are being piloted on a small-scale locally; where these are proving to be effective, the Team’s focus is to understand how to spread and scale them so that they can have greater impact.
The Team also supports London-wide technology programmes such as the NHS England (London) interoperability programme, and contributes to region-wide innovation activity, facilitating partnership working and coordinating applications for funding.
The Informatics service provides data analysis, modelling and visualisation support for the Health Innovation Network’s members and also support CLAHRC South London. The team capitalises on the vibrant informatics culture in organisations across South London and is focused on developing an informatics agenda that supports local improvement and system transformation—guiding the targeting of the Health Innovation Network’s resources to areas of greatest need.
